In the past two plus decades Xiangqun Chang has had many roles in her research career: as research assistant, data analyst, researcher, independent  investigator, co-principle investigator, etc.

  • She has represented LSE working with partners like Human Dynamics, Gallup at a consortium for bidding on the Europe China Research and Advice Network (ECRAN), which was shortlisted.
  • Her application for 'the Chinese Relationship Research International Network' (CRRIN) was shortlisted by the Leverhulme Trust.
  • The well received CO-REACH proposal entitled ‘Migrants and globalisation - participation, recognition, and social integration (MGPRSI)’, that originated with and was organised by Xiangqun Chang, pulled more than 20 professors from 10 prestigious universities and research institutes in five countries, such as China, France, Germany, Italy and UK.

  4. 2009-2011 'Chinese governance models in the transitional period' in collaboration with Northeast University, funded by the Ministry of Education of China
  5. 2008-09 'Chinese entrepreneur relationships and global economics' in collaboration with Nanjing University, funded by the DIUS, UK
  6. 2007-09 'Value Orientation in Entrepreneurs and Local Officials, and its Role in the Interactions which Affect Small Firm Growth in the Yangtze River Delta' in collaboration with Nanjing University, funded by the LSE, UK
  7. 2006-08 'Social-cultural factors, ethnic minority entrepreneurial orientation and firm growth: a comparative study of Turkish and Chinese small firms in the UK', in collaboration with Oxford Brookes University and Royal Holloway, funded by the ESRC, UK
  8. 2005-07 'Globalisation and villagers’ autonomy in China', funded by the British Academy, UK
  9. 2005-06 'A documentary study on 'Great Leap Famine' forming part of the project 'Transmission and Recognition of Grievous Loss' (2002-06), lead by Stephan Feuchtwang at LSE, funded by the ESRC, UK
